Belfius Bank awarded ‘Best Equity Finance House of the Year 2020’ by Euronext Brussels

Today, 19 January 2021, Belfius was awarded ‘Best Equity Finance House of the Year 2020’ by Euronext Brussels. This prestigious and coveted award confirms the bank’s strategic role in advising and offering its customers alternative financing solutions on the capital markets.

Just three years after embarking on a strategic partnership with the biggest European equity broker, Kepler Cheuvreux, Belfius has achieved its aim of emulating its success in Debt Capital Markets (DCM) in Equity Capital Markets (ECM).

3 out of 4 IPOs in Belgium in 2020

In 2020, Belfius was involved in the largest number of ECM deals on Euronext Brussels. During the course of the year, Belfius advised and managed no less than 15 equity transactions, ranging from initial public offerings (3) to capital increases via rights issues (2), as well as primary and secondary offerings of shares through accelerated bookbuilding (9) and convertible bond offerings (1):

Real Estate: Atenor, Aedifica, Inclusio, VGP, Care Property and Care-Ion;
Life Sciences: Nyxoah, Sequana Medical, Bone Therapeutics & Mithra Pharmaceuticals;
Technology: UnifiedPost Group.

Thanks to these achievements Belfius Bank was rewarded with the Euronext Brussels Award for the “Best Equity Finance House 2020”. This prestigious award is a recognition of the experience and expertise that Belfius has built up in equity capital markets, for both large and small companies across all sectors.
